Davy Crockett

Who Was Davy Crockett?
Davy Crockett was born in 1786 and lived in east Tennessee. Him and his family were pioneers. They were moving ever westward. Davy was a soldier, congressman, and eventually, Alamo defender. He has a great deal of importance to the independence of Texas and to many other parts of US history. He has songs, books, plays and movies about him. He is one of the most celebrated historical figures of all time.
What did he accomplish in his life time? 
Crockett became part of the Tennessee militia in 1813.He participated in the Indians at Tallussahatchee, but left after his enlistment was up. His second enlistment began on September 18, 1814. He joined Andrew Jackson’s forces at Pensacola; but, discharged again, he went back home, missing the Battle of New Orleans. Davy was elected to be Tennessee legislature in 1827 and 1829. He was at the Alamo during the war and dies there as well.
What was he famous for? 
Davy was famous for many things, some things were being a pioneer, soldier, congressman, and defender of the Alamo. All these things gained him fame. He has books, almanac passages, plays, and even movies about him. He is one of the most talked about historic figures in USA history. Its not everyday you get a song written about you, right?
