Alamo

Before the Battle: Texans were being brought to San Antonio to fill up the space and colonize the land.

On February 23, a Mexican force of 1,800 to 6,000 men (various sources) commanded by General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna began an attack on the fort. The fort held out, under numbered for 13 days. On March 6th there was a breach on one of the outer walls. The Mexican leader, Santa Anna, Ordered to kill everyone. Only a few Texans survived; mostly women and children. There were about 600 and 1,600 men Mexican casualties.

After Battle:  From March to May, Mexicans occupied the Alamo. The battle became a symbol of heroic resistance On April 21, 1836, Sam Huston brought an army of 800 men and defeated Santa Anna ( Near Present day Huston ) Santa Anna was taken and agreed to end the war. Texas was its own country for 10 years till the USA annexed it.
